Dr. Tashina K. Okorie, LSW, is the Founder of Soul Care Services and Beautiful Period. She holds a Doctorate in Couple and Family Therapy and a Masters in Social Work. Dr. Okorie is a licensed social worker, a certified travel consultant, and holds certifications in Prolonged Exposure (PE) Therapy, and in the facilitation of Trauma Recovery Empowerment Model groups for women and young girls alike.
Dr. Okorie has experience providing therapy to individuals, couples, and families dealing with various issues that has the potential to complicate relationships and personal balance. As a cancer survivor and survivor of life adversities, Dr. Okorie has the unique ability to address challenging life events achieving breakthroughs where no one else could. With her special interest in spirituality and creative therapies, Dr. Okorie uses an integrative approach to therapy to encourage, empower, teach, and mend relationships to bring about healing.
With her bright personality and optimism, Dr. Okorie tends to inspire others from various cultures and diverse backgrounds, which has afforded her many opportunities to share her gift of knowledge. Dr. Okorie traveled to Africa as a missionary and guest presenter for a youth and women’s conference in Contonu, Benin and Lagos, Nigeria in 2007. She has been the guest lecturer at Widener University’s School of Social Work every year since the Spring of 2013, and has been a presenter at the Alliance’s 12th Annual Conference for Direct Service Professionals. Dr. Okorie is a lover of art, music, dance, movies, and string instruments. She enjoys traveling, trying new foods, and reading a good novel. Dr. Okorie is known for her compassion towards others and her endearing spirit.
Christine Addison is the Executive Administrative Coordinator of Beautiful Period. She holds an Associates degree in Business Administration and has a natural gift of organization and business consulting. Ms. Addison has been an inspired member of the Beautiful Period movement since its conception and has been a major part of spreading the Beautiful Period message of hope and self-acceptance.
In her free time, Ms. Addison is a freelance plus size model, Fashion Stylist, Music Ministry Coordinator, Vocalist and Administrative Support to those in need of her talents. As a proud mother of two beautiful daughters, Ms. Addison enjoys using her gift to inspire and help others in need. She’s a servant who loves God and loves serving others. Ms. Addison loves to sing, dance, read, and take quick road trips.
